NEW YOUTUBE TUTORIAL: HOW TO DRAW A COMPLICATED COLUMN

As a beginning artist, you probably often see objects around you that you would like to draw, but you have no idea where to start. So, a few weeks ago, I got a question about how to draw a complicated column like this.

And I immediately thought that this might become a nice and useful Youtube video. No sooner said than done, here is a short step-by-step tutorial that is great for beginning artists, especially those who love urban sketching as much as I do.

So, in this video, you will learn how to draw an ornamented column with a pencil and how to add shadows to it. Enjoy watching and make sure to sketch along!

Please let me know in the comments below if you liked this tutorial and if you would like to see more of these kinds of short "how to" videos.

I wanted to share some advice with you based on your impressive drawing skills. Consider creating a YouTube channel to showcase your talent and creativity. YouTube provides artists with an excellent platform to share their work with a wide audience and gain popularity. By uploading videos with your drawings, you can attract viewers, offer tutorials, and even collaborate with other artists. In addition, https://www.movavi.com/learning-portal/best-4k-video-editing-software.html 4K video editing software can help you improve the visual quality of your videos and make them even more fun. Your artistic abilities are remarkable, and a YouTube channel could be the perfect way to showcase your talent to the world. I wish you good luck in your creative journey!

Hi Julia - This was a really fun tutorial. I really like this format - 10 minutes is a great length to get through during my lunch break and still leaves time for me to play with the sketch. As you can see, I am still following your advice of creating a thumbnail for my sketches!

Perhaps you do one of bicycles leaning against a wall. I struggle with bicycles generally and it gets worse trying to put the wheels into perspective.

BTW this is the first time I have seen you fail to get a straight line. 😋

Looking forward to your next post.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for the compliments! It's Britt, right?;) Sorry, I can't see your name, only the nickname.

Your sketch looks really great with all these shadows! And the column is really amazing. So glad to see that you not only followed the tutorial but also practiced!

Thank you so much for the suggestion to make a bicycle video. I think it will be a great tutorial and useful for a lot of people.

Haha! I fail to draw straight lines quite often when taking a video. It's kind of exciting and so inconvenient to sit like that with a lamp between your eyes and the paper.:)) Lately, I decided to share these kinds…
